I heard first of the year for me Savannah sparrows today. And I was outdoors all day long today. I began to notice small butterflies or moths early in the morning in small groups of 2-5 all headed north. Weather at home, in town, at the softball or baseball fields, or while I was grilling there was a constant flow of them literally all day long. I began to count them at one point during the ballgame and stopped at over 100 in a short amount of time. I had to see 500+ today alone. I began to be amazed at what has to be an astronomical number statewide or nationally if I am seeing that many in my small field of vision. Anyone know the species or details?
