For those Ohio birders still interested, the Ferruginous Hawk is still present at the Cincinnati Airport in Northern Kentucky. I arrived between 9:30 to 10:00 am. The bird was relatively close and on the groud inside the airport fence. After 11:00 am the bird started flying, putting on a great but somewhat distant show. It landed on the top of the fence in the swale north of the viewing area also at a greater distance and for a short period of time. Then it flew again and interacted with a local Red-tailed Hawk. It was still present when I left close to noon. At least half of the birders present were from Ohio. A great bird for this area and only 25 miles from my house! Easy to reach from I71 south into Kentucky, then west on I275 to the first exit, Mineola Pike, go left to Donaldson at the T, left again for a short distance to the viewing area on right.
