Paula and I conducted the 15th April census on Kelleys Island today. Weather started out mild, overcast, and light rain but ended warm and partly cloudy. 68 species were observed which is right on the 15 year average but the 3953 individuals was below the 15 year average of 4767 individuals. Two species were observed for the first time on an April census. Those were American Wigeon and Lesser Black-backed Gull.
