Fellow birders and dog lovers, Would like to thank those of you (67%) who expressed concern about my dog. Actually, the dog is fine, but I'm worried about some of you, who failed to recognize this improbable tale for what it was, a second April Fool's prank. Given that I had recently posted about owls, followed by Haan's April Fool's post about an owl, it was just irresistible. It all just fell together. By the way, I posted it before I had read all the criticisms of the original post. Unwarranted criticisms, I might add. Keep in mind, that National Public Radio, with perhaps the most intellectual audience know to man, does an April Fool's Day story every year. One year it was about talking dogs. I have one of those dogs. He has one ear and recently survived an attack by a Great Horned Owl. Hopefully, I will survive any attack from my fellow birders. Congrats to Richard B, Dave S, Barbara P., and John H. who recognized the prank for what it was.....an April Fool's prank in very bad taste. joeinthewoods somerset, ohio perry county ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
