With a brief window in the morning yesterday, I visited two spots along Alum Creek in Columbus, Innis Park and Tanager Woods, to check on migration. Work is commencing in Innis on the last link in the northern bikepath, the segment up to Easton. It will certainly change the amount of people in this under-utilized park. For about 45 minutes at each park yesterday morning, there was a modest movement of temperate migrants, including Sapsuckers - only 2 at Tanager Woods Phoebes - 2 at each park Blue-headed Vireo - FOS singing at Innis Winter Wren - 1 singing at Innis was topped by 2 singing at Tanager Woods Golden-cr.Kinglet - modest 'waves' with 5-6 at each park E.Bluebird - 1 singing at Innis Yellow-throated Warbler - 1 singing along creek at Innis Yellow-rumped Warbler - 2 at Innis, 4 at Tanager Woods Chipping Sparrows - 3-4 singing at each park White-thr.Sparrows - 10-12 at each park Fox Sparrow - 2 singing at Innis Junco - 1 singing at Tanager Woods ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
