I was able to see the Hoover/Galena Willets from around 6-7pm this evening. Photos of the birds in flight show at least 124 individuals (!!!) and, try as I might, none of them looked like an Eastern; so all Westerns, as expected. Willet Photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pauljhurtado/ Audio (poor quality, recorded with my phone): http://soundcloud.com/paul-j-hurtado/western-willets-catoptrophorus Other nice birds in the area include Common and Forster's Terns giving some excellent side-by-side comparisons, a flyover Caspian Tern, some lingering Red-breasted Mergs and a nice mix of swallows (no martins, no cliff). eBird Checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S10574522 Good birding, Paul Hurtado Columbus, OH ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
