Peter Rhodes, visiting from Texas, and I birded Headlands Dunes State Nature Preserve this morning before the rains came there. It was slow early, followed by a significant fall-out of White-throated Sparrows, with the grass suddenly just alive with them out in the open. Also many Palm Warblers and Yellow-rumped Warblers, but only five warbler species overall. However, Ray Hannikman reported hearing and seeing a single Cerulean Warbler, one that we unfortunately missed.  We had 35 species.
