Hi: I birded Wright Marsh in Wayne Co., off 226 towards Shreve, about 10am this morning to see the three white-faced ibis that have been reported for the past several days. They were there, right in the middle of the largest impoundment. The location has been described by Bruce Glick in several recent posts. I saw them very well in pretty good light. Certainly a good sighting for Ohio. There were also other shorebirds around at various locations at Wright Marsh. Lots of yellowlegs (both species), several solitary sandpipers and a few spotted sandpipers were evident. Just south of the big power tower, there was a single stilt sandpiper feeding with the yellowlegs. There is a small, wet woods along the trail that leads to the big impoundments. I heard, and then saw, a northern waterthrush, plus a rose-breasted grosbeak, a female Baltimore oriole, and the normal yellow and yellowthroat warblers. Across the street at the Shreve fishpond, there were some dunlins and 3-4 least sandpipers, along with killdeer.
