Following 4 hours at Magee Marsh I started working my way home (Chagrin
Falls) with several stops along the way. When I got to Lorain Impoundment
(4pm - 5pm) I saw about 15 species including 5 Willets, two Kingbirds and
one Common (Wilson's) Snipe. A Black-crowned Night Heron came in from the
west but saw me and did a 180 and headed back from whence he came.

At Frohring Meadows (Geauga County) I saw 3 Virginia Rails and one Sora in
the wetland cattails near the blind. Several Yellowlegs also present.

After dinner we walked the dog back in the woods and heard our
first-of-the-year Wood Thrush and Great-crested Flycatcher. We flushed the
Barred Owl and were rewarded 10 minutes later when it called and was
answered by another nearby.

Life is good!
