Yesterday at lunch I walked down to the intake/outlet at the Avon Lake
Powerhouse and observed a grackle go in the water from a float that is used to
stop driftwood. My first I thought was not a good place to take a bath. Too
deep. But it jumped back on the float with a live minnow, shook the water
off and flew back to the powerhouse. A few minutes later it did the same
thing but had a gizzard shad. My co worker and I observed this behavior a
few more times before lunch was over.
Has anyone ever observed this before?
