For a friend who's writing what looks like it'll be an interesting and informative article on birding Big Days, I'd be grateful for free access to any photos of these turn-of-the-century Ohio ornithologists out birding together. They were the inventors of such pastimes as Big Days, which they called "All Day with the Birds," and "horizons," which were less competitive accumulations of daily bird sightings. They were fast friends at Oberlin, and published separate works called "The Birds of Ohio" in 1903. Thanks for any help, Bill Whan ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
