While working at my kitchen sink, I had the most amazing visitor - a male Prothonotary Warbler! He visited the feeders suspended just inches from the window, clinging to the wires they were hung from. Needless to say, that close and in the sunlight he was stunning as he fluttered from feeder to feeder and to the nearby tree branches. I had always thought goldfinches were attractive, but seeing him perched above a goldfinch he put them to shame. I live on the west side of Sandusky near Medusa Marsh. I had not been aware of hearing his song, but I certainly will keep my ears tuned for him from now on.
