I was dropping bales of hay from the loft this morning and 'flushed' the
Junco off her nest. I knew they were flying in and out of the loft (I left
the door open 6" during that warm weather in April) but I did not see the
nest before today. As in the last three years, they build the nest between
bales of hay.

I did not count heads but there was at least three open mouths when I
glanced at the nest. They have some feathers but are nowhere near ready to
leave the nest.

Two years ago I observed three successful batches of young from the hay
loft. One time the young fell into an empty stall and I had to help direct
them outside and into the buckthorn next to the barn.
