IMHO having recently done some online research for someone here at work... Unless he is creating a nest cavity, he either likes the sound...good luck there....just thinking out loud here I wonder if screwing a piece of steel rod on the beam will change the sound dynamics enough for it to not like it...deadening it. or it is time to call the exterminator cause you have delicious edibles where it is pecking, but when I am out in the woods, those aren't usually loud...just damaging. I have many woodpeckers in our woods, but none have taken an interest in my house until now. I have seen a variety of opinions on "googling"- does anybody have an effective way to get them away?
