The I observed a very pale Red-tailed Hawk soaring overhead my yard. The bird was extremly pale overall. The entire underbody was light cream to whitish. The tail was almost translucent. The wings had 2 much lighter colored windows somewhat like those on a Red-shouldered Hawk. I only saw it for about 30 seconds before it soared to the west and disappeared. In looking at some online pictures, it did resemble some of the shots of the Krider's variant, however, I know that some pale/albino individual red-tails have been reported south of Cuyahoga County. The bird I saw was seen just south of the Lorain Rd. and Columbia Rd. intersection. If you are in the area, keeps your eye open for any soaring hawks. See you on the trails, Chrtis Pierce N.
