I saw Black-bellied Plovers in the mud to the right on the entrance road to Metzger beside the canal and at the first and second pulloffs once you turn the corner to head east. The Common Moorhens (3) were at the last pulloff before the parking area. The Wilson's Phalarope was at the second pulloff, where there is what looks like a big piece of metal equipment in the water. There is a spit of mud (closest one) with a Canada Goose nest right near the tip. The Wilson's Phalarope was right beside the nest. A complete list of birds I saw (70) at the three areas in the subject line: Canada Goose Wood Duck American Black Duck Mallard Great Blue Heron Great Egret Black-crowned Night-Heron Turkey Vulture Bald Eagle Red-tailed Hawk American Kestrel Common Moorhen American Coot Black-bellied Plover Semipalmated Plover Killdeer Semipalmated Sandpiper Dunlin Wilson's Phalarope Ring-billed Gull Common Tern Rock Pigeon Mourning Dove Black-billed Cuckoo Yellow-billed Cuckoo Eastern Screech-Owl Downy Woodpecker Northern Flicker Eastern Wood-Pewee Willow Flycatcher Eastern Kingbird Warbling Vireo Red-eyed Vireo Blue Jay American Crow Horned Lark Tree Swallow Barn Swallow House Wren Blue-gray Gnatcatcher Swainson's Thrush American Robin Gray Catbird European Starling Cedar Waxwing Tennessee Warbler Yellow Warbler Chestnut-sided Warbler Magnolia Warbler Black-throated Blue Warbler (f) Blackburnian Warbler (f) Bay-breasted Warbler Blackpoll Warbler Black-and-white Warbler (f) American Redstart (f) Prothonatary Warbler Mourning Warbler Common Yellowthroat (f) Wilson's Warbler Canada Warbler Song Sparrow Lincoln's Sparrow Northern Cardinal Indigo Bunting Red-winged Blackbird Common Grackle Brown-headed Cowbird Baltimore Oriole American Goldfinch House Sparrow ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
