I forgot to post this to the list -- we were at Glacier Ridge Metro Park (the wetland area) yesterday morning, and heard several Virginia rails calling from the reeds by the observation tower. After several minutes watching from the top deck, we finally saw one dart across a small open area -- too fast for a picture, alas. Hopefully, it'll be another good year for them there. There were also a couple of spotted sandpipers working a mud puddle in the far corner of area visible from the observation tower, along with a few killdeer. The only bird I got a halfway decent photo of was a woodcock, which didn't move *quite* as quickly as the rail: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jklsemi/7173594741/. --S. spines at gmail.com ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
