Yesterday the Mountwood Bird Club of Parkersburg, WV visited the Crown City Wildlife Management Area in Galia & Lawrence Counties. We had good views and multiple sightings of the target birds -- Blue Grosbeak, Dickcissel, Henslow's Sparrow and Grasshopper Sparrow. The weather was great. On the way home we stopped to check the Bald Eagle nest at Long Bottom. The foliage has grown so much since the last visit three weeks ago that we could not see the nest. We also checked the Osprey nest at Hockingport but it was empty.
