Steve Kolbe has reported, with photographs, a Neotropic Cormorant at the Great Miami Oxbow. The initial report was on the sightings log at cincinnatibirds.com ( http://cincinnatibirds.com/goodbird/sighting.php ), and that or the Indiana listserv should be consulted for followup reports. The Great Miami Oxbow is located in Indiana, but you can see Ohio from there. To reach the spot, take the I-275 loop around Cincinnati to the west. Take the Lawrenceburg exit, and turn left onto U.S. 50. Within a quarter mile, turn left onto an unmarked road, just past the Shell station. Turn right at the T intersection, then left at the next T, and right at the bottom of the hill. Each of these turns are within a hundred yards of each other. The bird was seen from the viewing area about halfway down the lake. A map of the area is on the Oxbow, Inc. website, at oxbowinc.org; a link to the map is in the bottom left corner of the home page. -- Ned Keller ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
