Greetings from the land of dust,

A late morning trip to the Thomas Wetlands just east of Antwerp, Ohio revealed a small flock of three American Avocets at the south pond along Township Road 61. This is our first
sighting of this species in Paulding County since 2003.

The Thomas Wetlands is found at the intersection of Township Road 61 and County Road 176 about two miles east of the village of Antwerp. The pond where the birds were found is about 1/2 mile south of this intersection along the north side of a small creek. Delorme page 34, C-2 more or less.

Bird long and prosper,
Doug & Micki Dunakin
Antwerp, O.
