Hi all,

This evening (7:15pm) I did a quick stop at the Camp Perry Military Reservation public beach. This was my first time ever visiting here after hearing how great the habitat is and how very few people visit it. Sure enough, as soon as I stepped out of the car, the first bird I saw was a WHIMBREL sitting along the shore. It was there for a few minutes before taking off heading west. Other birds present include a good size gull/tern flock, Sanderlings, Spotted Sandpipers and more shorebirds off in the distance to the west.

If you ever find yourself up this way, be sure to check this under-birded spot out - I can easily see a Piping Plover or something else of interest being found here. Camp Perry is off Rt. 2 halfway between Port Clinton and the Davis-Besse Power Plant.

Good Birding,
