According to the Ohio Division of Wildlife web site, hunting at places like Pipe Creek is subject to the following regulations: Virginia and sora rails: open season 9/1-11/9 (25-bird bag limit per hunter per day) common gallinule: same date limits (15-bird daily bag limit) Wilson's snipe: 9/1-11/25, 12/15-1/4 seasons (limit 8 birds/day) Teal (blue-winged, green-winged and cinnamon) 1-16 Sept (limit 4/day) [http:www.ohiodnr.com/wildlife/dow/regulations/seasons.aspx#hunting_season I am very glad to hear Wildlife managers welcome birders at other seasons of the year, but recent statements suggesting they are taking days off the hunting seasons on behalf of birders seem to be untrue.
