Dave Roemer reports two GREAT SHEARWATERS above the Kentucky Dam, on the Tennessee River, in Kentucky, a few hours ago, Saturday the 1st. Dave sent a brief email to the KY RBA. While this is to the south and west of our border with Kentucky, this is a reminder that southern Ohio birders could be checking the OH River and any large lakes or reservoirs. While Isaac did not bring many storm birds into the east central US, Dave's finding of these Great Shears (previously named Greater Shearwater) is the most northern and most significant inland seabird report thus far.
