I found fewer migrants today as compared to yesterday, with 8 warbler species today and 10 yesterday. There were more of some species (e.g., Red-eyed Vireo) but just not as many birds overall. Regarding the hawk identification from yesterday, opinions are split. The three suggestions were Broad-winged, Red-shouldered, and Red-tailed. Red-shouldered had the most votes (6) with Broad-winged at 4. I think Red-tailed can be eliminated for a few reasons. That leaves me with a split vote between the two species I was contemplating for this individual. I may send it to ID-Frontiers and get their opinions. Thanks to all who responded; if you'd like to take another look, the pictures are still at: http://blakemathys.com/youngbuteo.html and I'd love to hear from anyone who hasn't yet expressed their opinion to me.
