I was at Villa Angela/Wildwood State Parks late afternoon yesterday and today. Both days there were small numbers of White-throated Sparrows in various parts of the parks. Yesterday only had four warbler species (with 4-5 Wilson's) and one Pied-billed Grebe, Ruby-crowned Kinglet and a few Swainson's Thrush. Today there were a few more warblers as it was nicer with SW winds, yesterday it was colder with stronger NNW winds. Here is some of what I found today: Pied-billed Grebe 1 (both days in Euclid Creek south of island) Least Flycatcher 1 Empid Flycatcher 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch 1 Brown Creeper 1 (also seen on 9/15) Carolina & House Wrens Swainson's Thrush 4 Gray Catbirds - few Northern Flickers - few Chimney Swifts - few Warblers: (most seen in Villa Angela) Nashville 1 Magnolia 5 Black-throated Blue 2 (m & f) Blackpoll 1 Black-and-White 3 American Redstart 2 Ovenbird 1 Common Yellowthroat 5 Wilson's 1 Song Sparrows 4 Lincoln Sparrow 1 (along Euclid Creek Wildwood) White-throated Sparrows ~ 10-11 Dark-eyed Junco 2 or 3, near bathhouse in Villa Angela and further west, first time if have heard them here other than the one seen on 8/27/12 near beach.
