Nice mix of birds at the impoundment this evening, though hard to discern in the waning light and high wind.  Most notably, two Nelson's Sparrows remain, and two Rusty Blackbirds were also nice.  I better-marked the portion of the impoundment where the Nelsons' are being found:

Drive through the parking lot and just north of the porta-potty, atop the dike, you will see wooden stake in the ground, over which I placed a hunk of black PCV pipe and a large rock.  This is your beacon for the prime Nelson's territory.  At the base of the stake, I placed an arrow-shaped piece of wood pointing the direction (until someone kicks it!), but basically walk east from here from though the low-lying smartweed alley, which curves to the north along the big sky pond.

Good luck!
