Hey all -

The 'No Tresspassing' signs and orange snow fence have been removed at Lorain, as far I can tell, though there is still some earth-moving equipment present.  The good news for birders, however, is that the former mudflats have reverted to a wonderful blanket of knee-high smartweed and other grasses and looks particularly awesome for Nelson's & LeConte's Sparrows in the coming weeks.  The "grassland" is quite extensive...I would reccommend wearing tall boots and pants for ultimate comfort if giving this area a check.

Birds present today were two Pectoral Sandpipers in one of the remaining puddles, and a low flyover WHIMBREL.  On the way home a Red-headed Woodpecker put in an appearance along Lake Rd.

Good birding -
