Hi, What prompted my original post on this subject was a milestone event. That is the posting of an extreme rarity on the Birding Ohio facebook page *before* it was posted on the listserve. To me this is an interesting signal. While I would imagine the listserve will be around for a while, I think we will see a shift over time as people find what medium best suits their needs and abilities. Today I posted the possible Golden-crowned Sparrow report to the Ohio Rarities FB page and there were quickly several responses from people who could see the pictures better than I could on my phone. In general BirdingOhio has far more activity than the listserve perhaps because it is far more chatty. What we want and what actually happens may be very different and something no one can control.
