Fellow birders (which no doubt includes some who collect memorabilia ) I had the incredible good fortune this past weekend to come across a collection of vinyl records entitled "AMERICAN BIRD SONGS, Recorded by the Albert R. Brand Bird Song Foundation, Lab of Ornithology, Cornell University" They are red vinyl, 10 inch, 78 RPM records and contain 72 recordings of American Birds. I don't have anything that plays 78 RPM, but they appear to be in fairly good shape. As far as I can determine, they were published around 1942. If anyone knows anything about this really early set of bird song recordings, please let me know. While this is clearly not a sighting, others might be interested as well. I found the album of records at an antique shop in Shawnee. No one will believe what I paid for them.
