After Rick Asamoto reported a phalarope off the beach at Buck Creek State Park, we searched for it on Friday and Saturday mornings without finding one. On Sunday morning we were again checking the beach and a Red Phalarope flew in and landed at the edge of the beach. We got great looks at it and Larry Jeanblanc was able to get several pictures. I have posted a couple pictures on the Clark County Audubon Website at www.clarkcountyohioaudubon.org. Then click on the bird sightings tab at the left. One Franklin's Gull remained on the beach this morning. We also saw several species of warblers over the weekend on the trails on the east edge of the park including a couple Orange-crowned Warblers on Sunday morning. Many Red-breasted Nuthatches are being found in the pines along Grant Road south of the horsemen's area. Buck Creek State Park is in Clark County northeast of Springfield, Ohio.
