Just finished reading the Times. It looks like the hurricane and other
storms will be as destructive as anyone estimated, and we all have to
hope precautions on the east coast will be effective in saving lives.
There is an informative website keeping track of the weather's effects
on birds specifically, at
http://birdcast.info/forecast/hurricane-sandy-update-8pm-edt-28-october-2012/
  which is updated several times a day apparently; have a look at the
last few posts, and follow it as the weather approaches if you care to.
