I just had a group of three Common Eiders, 1 male and 2 females, pass close by heading east. I was able to get them in my scope and follow them out of sight. The male was spectacular in plumage. I was also able to follow the females and head shapes looked good for common also. They were heading east at a good clip. I have seen several hundred waterfowl so far this morning, mostly mergansers and scaup. There have been a handful of scoters. Duck flocks are pretty widely scattered. No brant so far but three small swan flocks. Also of note was a pomarine jaeger and 4 lesser black-backed gulls. Every day has been different.
