I visited several areas around north Hoover Reservoir this morning, and found very calm weather and higher water levels. The warmer weather appears to have changed the waterfowl and gulls around the reservoir - there were very few waterfowl, and BonaparteGull #s have nosedived. Highlights included

White-winged Crossbills - 2 were flyovers at the top of Wiese Rd. Given the big pine/spruce collection in a yard here, this might be a good spot to listen for them.
Rusty Blackbirds - 3 were sitting in trees at the east end of Oxbow Island early in the morning
Sparrows - Tree and Field Sparrows were at several places, with the most around Hoover Meadows
cormorants - still a few around, including 8 off the east end of Oxbow Island
Horned Grebes - only 2, both at the Sunbury causeway
Ring-billed Gulls - while Bonies dropped, Ring-bills soared, with 1200+ on the flats around the boardwalk and Wiese Rd
