I was out at our Lake Erie Bluffs Park in Perry Township this morning. There quite a few songbirds moving west along the shoreline. Of note were two flocks of crossbills. One flock consisted of 7 birds and contained both crossbill species. The second flock was 11 birds. All that I heard in this group were white-winged crossbills. I also had two flocks small finches. They were silent and never stopped.

The northern shrike was on the south side of Clark Road in an area with a lot of crabapples. There were a lot of robins in this area. Also a couple snipe.

There were quite a few raptors in the area. I had several bald eagles and red-tailed hawks as well as sharp-shinned, Cooper's, and northern harrier.

Directions to the park can be found at lakemetroparks.com. There are a couple spots you can watch the lake from the trail. The lake was quiet this morning.
