It dawned on me that I probably should have included in the title line of my earlier posting that I located a Saw-whet Owl for our group in the "traditional" pine grove at Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area in Wyandot County.

I know I have been frustrated during the years following the wind damage to the pine grove. This had been a reliable location for Saw-whet Owls since I first birded there in the 1970's. This is the first Saw-whet I have located here in about 4 years. The bird was about 15 feet up and near the trunk of a fir in the southwest outer section of the pine grove.

I assume others would like to find this little beauty. Good hunting.

Charlie
