I'm quite glad Ipper posted the alert and the photos -- a few false alarms are a good sign of a healthy birding email list! As a result of the posts, I learned more about Great Gray Owl (and Barred Owl!) ID from discussions on the Birding Ohio facebook group, and about the history of Great Gray occurrences in Ohio from posts to the Ohio-Birds email list. All in all, a good learning experience for everyone. :-) Good birding, Paul Hurtado On Wed, Dec 19, 2012 at 7:41 PM, Collens, Edmund (Ipper) < [log in to unmask]> wrote: > Again my deep apologies for the false alarm on the Barred Owl!
