At 3 p.m. I did not see the Sandhill Cranes mentioned by the Neubauers in the following message. However, I did see two American Pipits on the ice at this location as well as a male Northern Harrier. The Harrier left heading north, and about fifteen minutes later I saw what was presumably the same bird at the intersection of Frederick-Garland and Bolinger Roads (which I believe is actually in southern Miami County). A stop at Eastwood Lake in eastern Dayton yielded a female Merlin in the grassy area on the south side of the lake.
