I have noticed that for the past 4 - 5 years there are sightings of a leucistic Red-tailed Hawk in this area of the National Park. I posted a picture of one several years ago, that's why I notice these postings. I always wonder if it is the same individual? Gives me something to think about! Good Birding, Matt Valencic Chagrin Falls, OH (Geauga County) -----Original Message----- From: Ohio birds [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Andy Avram Sent: Thursday, December 20, 2012 3:16 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [Ohio-birds] "Pinktail" Hawk at CVNP... I was down in the National Park today and while driving Riverview Road, between Everett Road and the railroad crossing I saw an all, or nearly, all white raptor sitting in a tree in the woods. Views would have been better if it was a safer place to stop the car and if it wasn't raining. I am pretty confident it was an albino, or leucistic, Redtail Hawk. On a less interesting bird note, the beaver pond at Ira is filled mostly with Black Ducks.
