The vesper sparrow has been seen off and on all morning in my North Perry yard. The hoary redpoll came in for a few minutes around 10:30. I was able to get a few photos that I'll post later today. The resident sharpie came in and scattered everything. The redpolls have not been seen since. The vesper sparrow and a few other birds returned about 15 -20 minutes ago. The redpoll is again with a group of 200 redpolls that seem to prefer the alders along the cliff here. If anyone wants to try for the redpoll be my guest. Stay back as the birds spook easily right now. You might have luck working the beach where you get a clearer view of the alders. So far the redpolls have been at my feeders less than 5 minutes yesterday and about 5 minutes today, so they are using the alders a lot more at this time. There was no Waterbird survey due to the snow making for little or no visibility.
