Linda and I took advantage of Saturday's nice weather and took a walk at Char- Mar Preservation Park. The park is only a few miles from the house and we have used it more often as it is so easy to get to and it is an enjoyable walk. We have a new favorite there, a Barred Owl that almost seems to greet us. We have seen it on 8 straight walks, now it has to stay put until December 15th for the Christmas Bird Count. Species observed along the trail today included: Canada Goose Wood Duck Gadwall American Black Duck Mallard Cooper's Hawk Red-tailed Hawk Mourning Dove Barred Owl Red-bellied Woodpecker Yellow-bellied Sapsucker Downy Woodpecker Hairy Woodpecker Northern Flicker Blue Jay American Crow Carolina Chickadee Tufted Titmouse Red-breasted Nuthatch White-breasted Nuthatch Brown Creeper Carolina Wren Winter Wren Eastern Bluebird American Robin Northern Mockingbird European Starling Cedar Waxwing Yellow-rumped Warbler American Tree Sparrow Song Sparrow White-throated Sparrow Dark-eyed Junco Northern Cardinal American Goldfinch House Sparrow ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
