Richard Buster Banish texted me at 8:20 p.m. "I have a Ross's or Snow Goose under the lights of the Great Lakes Science Center" this evening. I made incredibly great haste to the location (from Edgewater) and was in awe to find a ROSS'S GOOSE with Canada Geese foraging on the lawn in from of GLSC and the Browns Stadium in near pitch darkness save for the lights from the shoreway and GLSC. Over 50 photos taken (flash was needed). This is #270 (266 self found) Cuyahoga County big year for me, and a huge, huge, enormous, huge, enormous thank you goes to Buster for the incredible night-time (3 hours after sunset) find. Truly epic. For those attempting in the early a.m. I would immediately check the lawns surround the science center. Then Edgewater SP. I will attempt to help refind in the a.m. best of birding - jb Jen [log in to unmask] Cleveland, Ohio 330-701-6452 Bird Illustrator / www.jenbrumfield.com Birding Tour Guide (Ohio), Local Patch Birding / www.jenbrumfield.com Birding Tour Guide (worldwide), Tropical Birding / www.tropicalbirding.com Naturalist/Artist, Cleveland Metroparks / www.clemetparks.com LEICA Birding Optics Prostaff / http://en.leica-camera.com/sport_optics/NorthNW Lake Erie blog / www.northnw.wordpress.com ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
