Was a good morning on Hayes "Hawk Alley" Road in Middlefield Twp. between Nauvoo Road and Peters Road - usually the best stretch from my experience. Off to a good start with a pearly gray adult male harrier soon followed by two light-phase rough-legged hawks. Then it was two more light phase including the most light-headed adult female I've seen and a young dark phase - all in tree line between fields. The last rough leg was a beautiful light phase that put on a great hovering display. Also had a pair of red-tailed hawks along this stretch. On Bundysburg Road, the next road over to the east, picked up another pair of red-tails and a male kestrel hovering. Add 3 red-tails on Burton-Windsor Road east of Rt. 528 and the morning's total came to 6 rough-legs, 7 red-tails, a harrier and a kestrel. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
