I met Larry Gara and Shane Egleston east of Wilmington (Clinton County) on SR 22 across from the ramp to SR 73 westbound. There is a retention pond next to the ramp that often has waterfowl. On the south side of SR 22 there is a parking area for a closed miniature golf course where we set up our scopes. Among the more than 1000 Canada Geese were 17 Greater White-fronted Geese, 4 Cackling Geese, 19 Snow Geese (8 blue, 11 white). This was between 5:30 and 6pm at which time many of the geese and ducks began departing in large numbers. Earlier I saw 3 female White-winged Scoters at the Furnas boat ramp at Caesar Creek State Park and four drake Common Mergansers at Rocky Fork State Park.
