The lake out past the ice from the Scheeff East Point Preserve on South Bass Island contained the following waterfowl yesterday. A bald eagle flew over the waterfowl at one point. A few snow buntings passed overhead. Off reef to the east 68 Tundra Swans 50 Mallards 50 Lesser Scaup 25 Ring-necked Ducks 60 Redheads 49 Common Goldeneye 2 Great Black-backed Gull 20 Herring Gull Just North of Buckeye Island 21 Tundra Swans 600 Common Goldeneye 20 Bufflehead 20 Ring-necked Ducks 10 Mallards A small opening in the ice Squaw Harbor of Put-in-Bay had about 25 redheads and 10 lesser scaups. There were two double-crested cormorants on the bar between Gibraltar and Oak Point. A large group of both herring and ring- billed gulls were scattered over the ice in the Bay.
