A short hour or so was all the time we could spend at the Darby wetlands.
Only Canada Geese seen were a dozen or so fly over pairs, and 40 Mallards
in the wetlands just past the gate at white barn (north end of rd.) were
visible from the road, in shallow water, the only open water we saw.
Twenty Song Sparrows, apparently new arrivals, were along a short stretch
of Kuhlwein Rd. and Red-winged Blackbirds and Robins were everywhere. The
highlights were two Black Vultures drifting low over Kuhlwein and Darby Rd.
and three ad. Bald Eagles soaring higher and higher over the Harrier/Teal
wetlands (seen from pull out along Kuhlwein Rd.). At least 60 Turkey
Vultures were seen all along Broad St., Darby Rd., Kuhlwein Rd., and near
and far woodlands.
