At 9 a.m. this morning, I observed a Pine Warbler as he sang persistently in the evergreens along Stewart Street in Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. This area is just east of the University of Dayton's Marycrest Hall. Nearby birds included Red-Breasted Nuthatch, Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker, and Chipping Sparrows (very quiet and inconspicuous). And I believe I saw one or two female White-Winged Crossbills in the section just east of where Paul Laurence Dunbar and the Wright Brothers are buried. Unfortunately they flew before I could get a definitive identification.
