At 4pm this afternoon (Sat.), just saw some of the White-Winged Crossbills again at Bertram Woods Library (SE corner of Shaker Blvd. @ Warrensville Ctr. Rd., Shaker Hts.), two females and two males in the sweetgums and two females on the ground by the path to the front door.  I was literally a foot away from them when a Noisy Person came by opining dramatically into a cell phone, not unlike (to quote PG Wodehouse) "Aunt calling to aunt like mastodons bellowing across primeval swamps."  Needless to say, the w-ws quickly flew into the sweetgum to dine with their buddies.  So beautiful, so greenish, and obviously enjoying this weather.
