Hi all,
I am just now posting because my phone died earlier but I am 98% sure that a Black-headed Gull flew in to Conneaut harbor around 10 o'clock this morning. A flock (40-60) of bonapartes gulls flew in and landed on the ice on the east side of the harbor while I was looking elsewhere (none were present when I originally arrived around 9). I immediately noticed one bird with an almost complete dark head. The scope views were distant even at 60x, but the bird appeared to have a reddish bill, and reddish legs (much brighter red than the surrounding bonapartes). Also, the hood looked more brown and less extensive than is expected for bonapartes. I unfortunately did not see the underwings during the 20 mins while I was watching the bird. I took some poor quality photos, which will hopefully confirm/deny my suspicions once I blow them up. I will post them for everyone to look at later. Again I am not 100% sure of this ID.

Also, despite extensive searching, I did not find the previously reported Eurasian wigeon- but the bird turnover in the harbor was huge, and there were hundreds of ducks and gulls present! Definitely worth checking during the next few weeks!

Good birding!
