The Western Meadowlark discovered by Jack Stegner and reported by Jay is
still on spot. See the previous post for excellent directions. We both
heard and saw the bird. It was calling and flying back and fourth over the
second ridge out. One time I had both meadowlarks in view at the same time.
It was very obvious that the eastern had a greater amount of white outer
tail feathers than the western. The calls are obviously different.
