The movement of temperate migrants continued today, as I made brief stops at several points along Big Walnut Creek south of Woodside Green (where the McNulties found their bonanza), including McCorkle Park area, Creekside, and Friendship Park. There were steady #s of migrants in roughly 1.5 hour, including: N.Flickers - 5-6 Sapsuckers - 10+ Red-br.Nuthatch - 1 in pines by Founder's Ridge development Brown Creepers - 2-3 Ruby-cr.Kinglet - 1 Golden-cr.Kinglets - 16-20, mostly around isolated stands of conifers Hermit Thrush - 2 Brown Thrasher - 1 singing at McCorkle Park Yellow-thr.Warbler - 1 singing at Friendship Park, another near Shull Park Yellow-rumped Warblers - 6-8, mostly around Friendship Park Louisiana Waterthrush - 1 singing along Old Ridenour Road where it sweeps close to Big Walnut Creek north of McCorkle Chipping Sparrows - 5-6 singing (this is their breakout singing day) Tree Sparrow - a small migrant flock of 5 in Friendship Park Field Sparrows - 2 at 2 different locations Fox Sparrow - 1 singing in scub near McCorkle Park White=throated Sparrows - small flocks of 6-10 birds in many locations ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
